Teeth Whitening in Cincinnati, OH
At Kempter Meadow Family Dentistry, we offer a Teeth Whitening for Life Program! Please reach out to any team member to help you get enrolled in this program.
Professional teeth whitening from our Kemper Meadow Family Dentistry dentists is far more superior than the teeth whitening products you’d find at your grocery store as in-dentist clinical strength products have more whitening power than over-the-counter (OTC) products. Along with the teeth whitening below, we also offer internal bleaching when it is needed. If you have questions about this procedure, please ask one of our team members.
Here at Kemper Meadow Family Dentistry, we offer two main types of professional teeth whitening:
1) Opalescence™ PF Whitening Trays
Opalescence™ PF whitening trays are custom-made to fit your smile. With our Opalescence™ PF take-home system, you can now experience professional, customized teeth whitening in your own home. And, you can whiten your teeth day or night as white as you want them, due to the flexibility of our five concentrations.
Our dentists take as much time needed to build you a totally customized tooth whitening tray unique for your mouth. It’s far better than the over-the-counter (OTC) one-size-fits-all trays.
2) Poladay CP
Poladay is a neutral PH, super fast teeth whitening formulation offering the potential to reach your desired whitening effect in as little a 15 minutes a day. It’s designed for people who want to jump-start their tooth whitening in a short period of time. We carry refills for 22% and 35% carbamide peroxide.
How Opalescence™ PF Works
Our dentist will provide you with a thorough dental exam before they create your Opalescence™ PF whitening tray. The exam’s purpose is to find the root cause of your tooth discoloration or staining. If you have crowns or veneers in your mouth or our dentist identifies tetracycline stains, a peroxide-based tooth whitener will not effectively whitening your teeth.
Consuming certain foods and certain medications can also impact the results. It’s also quite possible you could have some discolored teeth due to defective fillings or decay, requiring repair before you can use the whitening tray. Our dentist will assess your oral health and measure your mouth’s dimensions before creating a totally customized tray.
Why Custom Teeth Whitening Trays?
Many OTC teeth whitening products are available without dentist supervision. But, according to the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the safest and effective whitening treatment is through the use of custom-fitted mouth trays your dentist makes for you. Trays that don’t fit well can cause the whitening gel to leak out, which can irritate your gums and not effectively whitening your teeth. You can avoid these issues by using custom-fitted trays specifically made for your mouth and bite.
A teeth whitening tray that’s custom made and professionally crafted by one of our dentists is the best approach to eliminating stains and discolorations on your teeth. If you were to ask anyone who’s tried a custom-fit whitening tray as well as an OTC store-bought whitening tray, they’ll likely tell you they prefer the dentist’s tray.
The main reason you should rely on our dentist’s custom-fit Opalescence™ PF tray is it will whiten unsightly teeth far better than an OTC product. Our dentist will show you how to apply our teeth whitening tray to your teeth effectively. You won’t receive this same detailed directions with a store-bought tray.
Also, the Opalescence™ PF whitening system whitens your teeth rather quickly. It takes a lot longer to generate similar results with whitening trays available in stores. Therefore, you shouldn’t shy away from our dentist’s professional custom-fit trays just because they cost a little more than those you get from a store. It’s well worth the extra money.
How Poladay CP Works
When the Poladay active ingredients are applied to the teeth through your whitening tray, they break down into oxygen ions and water. The oxygen ions attack stain “long” molecules when they enter the tooth’s enamel. They break down the long molecules into “short” colorless molecules, which are then naturally removed by your saliva.
Side Effects of Teeth Whitening
Teeth whitening is a simple, painless treatment that’s safe for existing dental work and your teeth. You might notice a little tooth sensitivity to cold during your at-home whitening treatment. After completing your treatment, however, the sensitivity should disappear typically within one to three days. If your sensitivity persists, let our dentist know so they can rule out another dental issue.
No doubt, once you achieve a whiter, more brilliant smile, you’ll want to keep it like that. Here’s what you should do:
- Brush your teeth with a whitening toothpaste twice a day
- Floss every day
- Avoid food and beverages that stain teeth like wine, coffee, tea, blueberries or other types of dark-colored foods
- Avoid chewing tobacco or smoking
The way your teeth look to you and everyone around you is likely very important to you. Therefore, if you’re interested in having whiter and brighter teeth, give our office a call to set up an appointment to see if you’re a good candidate for the Opalescence™ PF whitening treatment.
If you’re looking for professional teeth whitening results, set up an appointment with our dentist for custom teeth whiting trays with Opalescence® Bleaching Gels or Poladay super fast home teeth whitening solution.
