Dr. Alexandra Kulwin

Dr. Kulwin is originally from Evansville. With her father being an oral surgeon and her mother being a dental assistant, she knew from a young age that she also wanted to be a part of the dental field too. After attending DePauw University, she earned her dental doctorate from the Indiana University School of Dentistry and hasn’t looked back!

Today, Dr. Kulwin is committed to continuing education and pursuing advanced training. She does this by staying active in the American Dental Association, Ohio Dental Association, and the Cincinnati Dental Society.

When she isn’t treating patients, Dr. Kulwin is spending time with her husband, twins, and two dogs. During her free time, she enjoys hot yoga, walking out, and cooking. Something that many people don’t know about Dr. Kulwin is that she is a trained opera singer!

Dr. Jasmina Maric

Before she was a dentist at Kemper Meadow Family Dentistry, Dr. Maric had been a patient since she was 10 years old! She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati before pursuing her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry.

Since graduating from dental school, Dr. Maric has been committed to continuing education and an active member of the American Dental Association, Ohio Dental Association, and the Spear Study Club. She specializes in cosmetic dentistry, including veneers, crowns, BOTOX, fillers, and more!

When she isn’t at the dental office, Dr. Maric is spending time with her husband, family, and friends. In her free time, she enjoys running, hiking, swimming, traveling, and trying new restaurants.

I went for a consultation and they were the most welcoming staff I ever meet. They made sure I was comfortable and that I understood all the information they told me. The lobby was nice and clean, and they don’t have you waiting a long time like other dental offices do. I would highly recommend going.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I visit the dentist?

Studies show that one of the best things you can do for your oral health is to visit your dentist every six months for a routine checkup and cleaning. Periodic checkups help us monitor your smile, and the earlier we can identify any harmful conditions, the better your treatment outlook will be. Cleanings, meanwhile, give us the opportunity to remove more stubborn plaque and tartar from your teeth, reducing your risk of cavities and gum disease.

If you or a family member is due for a dental checkup and cleaning, please don’t hesitate to get in touch and make an appointment!

Why do you treat sleep apnea?

We know it’s pretty strange to visit a dentist for a sleep disorder! Rest assured, there’s a good reason for it. The most common type of sleep apnea is obstructive sleep apnea, which occurs when overrelaxed oral tissue or muscles block the airway.

Changing how the jaw is positioned with an oral appliance can actually help shift airway obstructions out of the way and mitigate or prevent sleep apnea occurrences. Sound familiar? That’s because dentists are experts at using various oral appliances to reposition dental anatomy. Whether it comes to straightening out your teeth with Invisalign or shifting your jaw with a sleep apnea device, we’ve got you covered!

Will a toothache go away on its own?

It’s not likely. More generalized sensitivity does usually fade once you finish whatever cold or hot treat you were eating, but a pin-point toothache usually means you’re experiencing a more serious issue, such as a cavity or infection. These conditions require prompt treatment.

If a severe toothache does happen to go away on its own, that may not necessarily be a good thing. It’s possible that the cavity or infection has damaged some of the dental nerves responsible for communicating discomfort. In this case, it’s still best to be on the safe side and contact our office for an emergency appointment.

Is BOTOX® safe?

When administered by a qualified professional like Dr. Maric, BOTOX is quite safe. In fact, BOTOX has been approved for use in dentistry for decades, and has a wealth of research backing up its reliability and effectiveness. BOTOX is often preferred or even recommended before resorting to surgical alternatives. Serious side effects are rare, and rest assured, the FDA carefully regulates BOTOX injections in medical settings.

If you have further questions or concerns about BOTOX, Dr. Maric would be happy to discuss this treatment with you in more detail.
